For over a century, Columbia has been the monthly magazine of the Knights of Columbus, the world’s largest Catholic fraternal service organization. The magazine’s purpose is to serve and strengthen the Church through content that forms, informs and inspires the Order’s more than 2 million members, their families, and a general Catholic audience.
It is currently published 10 times a year, including combined January/February and July/August issues, in four languages — English, French, Spanish and Polish — with a total print circulation of more than 1.7 million.
Columbia’s predecessor, The Columbiad, began in 1893 as the unofficial newspaper of the Knights of Columbus. In 1921, the publication was reconceived and rebranded by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council, broadening its audience and editorial vision. The first issue of Columbia was published in August of that year.
In addition to the monthly magazine, Columbia’s editorial staff is tasked with producing timely news and other web exclusive content.
