moments in my life. Beginning at age 9, I found joy in serving at the altar during Mass at St. Ignatius of Loyola Parish in our humble town of Sulat. At age 12, I entered the minor seminary in Borongan City.</p> <p>Helping others brought me fulfillment, and each day felt more complete through prayer. In those ordinary moments, I always felt that God’s guiding presence was constant and true.</p> <p>After 15 years of formation, I returned to my parish church to be ordained a priest. In 2005, I became a chaplain in the Philippine Coast Guard, retiring last year as its first chaplain to attain the rank of commodore. This year, I celebrate 30 years of priestly ministry.</p> <p>Many people were instrumental in my vocation: my parents, pastors and many others, including the Knights of Columbus, whose scholarships supported my studies.
