I came to know the depth of God’s love for me from my family and parish community. Growing up on an acreage, I recognized God’s voice in the beauty of nature, the grace of the sacraments and sacred Scripture.
The first seed of a call was planted in me when Mother Teresa died in 1997. Learning about her life, I was captivated by loving Christ in the poor with an undivided heart.
Even when I was dating, I saw the beauty of both religious life and marriage. I spent hours in prayer asking the Lord where he was calling me.
Then one day God the Father spoke to my heart: “I have given you the gifts to be a wife and mother or a sister and bride of Christ — you choose. As long as you love me with all that you are.”
I felt so free, and from deep within, my response was, “Jesus, I choose you, and only you!”
This led me to join the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary, where together we make Jesus Christ known and loved among youth and the poor.
